Collection and use of personally identifiable information:

The SIFMA website does not collect any personal identifying information about you unless you specifically and knowingly provide such information. At our site, you can request more information about our services or chose to share your story. The types of personally identifiable information that may be collected at these pages include: name, and e-mail address.

We do not share or otherwise disclose any personal information, including your name or email addresses with other organizations. Only Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association staff and our authorized agents have access to personally identifiable information provided by visitors to our site in order to better serve you. We do not lease, rent, or sell the information we collect. People who affirmatively submit their contact information through the SIFMA site may be contacted by SIFMA staff.

Browser information collected on the web site:

As with any website operator, SIFMA analyzes our website logs to constantly improve the value of our website. We use an external service to provide real-time reporting to us and our authorized agents of browser accesses to our site. This includes page views, unique views, unique visitors, repeat visitors, frequency of visits, and peak-volume traffic periods. We do not use this service to gather, request, record, require, collect or track any Internet users’ personally identifiable information.

Privacy of our email lists:

SIFMA maintains an email list to keep interested parties informed about various activities surrounding retirement. Individuals must affirmatively request to join our mailing lists. In addition, we do not share the email addresses on our lists with outside organizations. List server software is configured to refuse to divulge the email addresses of our list subscribers to anyone but authorized SIFMA staff, including other list subscribers. Only SIFMA staff have access to personally identifiable information provided by visitors to our site.

If you receive a promotional email from SIFMA, such as a send-to-a-friend communication, we will not contact any of the email addresses obtained as a result of the promotional communication.

Children’s privacy:

Because we care about the safety and privacy of children online, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). COPPA and its accompanying FTC regulation establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. We do not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 13. Our site is not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under 13, and we have designed our site to block our knowing acceptance of information from children under 13 whenever age-related information is requested.

It is possible that by fraud or deception we may receive information pertaining to children under 13. If we are notified of this, as soon as we verify the information, we will immediately obtain parental consent or otherwise delete the information from our servers.
